Frequently Asked Questions
• What is the average turnaround?
Size, quantity and finishing options all affect the turnaround time. Talking with a respresentative can better help in estimating turnaround times.
•When calling, have all job information ready to ensure you get your time quote as quickly as possible. Rush charges may apply for jobs requiring immediate turnaround.
• What file format works best for images?
An image that may be embedded
in your layout can be saved in a variey of diffent format. As a rule, for images stay with JPG, TIFF or EPS files.
•Each file has its advantages, but the best for quality would be a TIFF file using LZW compression. This allows
for a smaller file size without compromising image quality like a JPG or an EPS file with compression.
• What resolution should I use for my graphics?
150-300 dpi at the actual size it will be printed at.
•The lower the dpi, the less detail your image will have. The type of media it will be printed on, the distance it will be viewed from and the amount of detail in the image should be
considered. An image with a small type will need much higher resolution than a blue sky background and an image viewed from a distance such as a vehicle wrap or banner will require much less
resolution.
• What file format can I submit for project?
We support all of the most popular applications and image formats including Illustrator, Photoshop, Freehand, Acrobat PDF and QuarkXpress.
•When submitting
an Illustrator file, use the EPS format. Please make sure all of your fonts are converted to outlines. For photoshop files, flatten your files and save them as a TIFF file with LZW
compression. This will give you a much smaller file than a native Photoshop document without sacrificing quality.
